If you want to cure your headaches everyday there is a myth that you should clear first in your mind. Headaches are simply symptoms or caused by other underlying problems like sinus infections, stress and tension, foods in your diet or factors in your environment. Taking painkillers will only relieve the pain in your head but it will definitely not cure your headaches. And the only way to treat, prevent or minimize the occurrence of your headaches is to find the underlying cause so you could remedy the problem.
This understanding might be new to you but it is the truth. It is important to know the cause of your headaches so you could treat it correctly especially if the occurrence of your headaches are very frequent . Did you also know that too much use of painkillers can also cause headaches? This type of headache is called rebound headaches. So it is highly recommended that you use natural methods to relieve the pain in your head like deep breathing, drinking water, meditation, yoga, using oils and massage while you try to discover what is causing the pain in your head.
Millions of people around the world suffer from headaches everyday. Although, most of the time we put the blame on migraine, but there are actually instances (lots of them, in fact) where it has nothing to do with it. So, what I have today are the most common causes of headaches everyday and what you can do about it.
The most common cause of headache is stress. If you are overworked, not having enough sleep or pressured in your job; these things will surely start the pain in your head. A simple rest or a day off from work could do the trick to prevent or minimize your headaches everyday. Don’t rely solely in taking pills, keep in mind the side effects it can cause to your body. Do your best to find the cause of the pain in order to prevent it or minimize the occurrence of your headache. And if the pain continues to persist, please visit your doctor immediately.
Hunger headaches. If you’re too busy to eat your meals or deliberately skipping it, then expect a throbbing pain in your head shortly. Also, if you tend to sleep too much, then you are skipping meals too. Obviously, the best way to cure hunger headaches is to see to it that you eat your meals regularly and on time.
Cluster Headaches. The pain starts near the eye causing you to tear unnecessarily. Cluster headaches usually last for a long time and is closely associated with smoking, alcohol drinking and certain foods that causes it. The best way to control this type of headache is to lessen your smoke and alcohol consumption and if ever, trace the food that is causing it.
Allergy Headaches. You can easily tell if it’s an allergy headache because of your watery eyes and possible nasal congestion. The severity of the pain will depend on your exposure to the allergens such as dusts, pollens, bugs, etc. The best way to cure allergy headaches is to take some allergy relief medications and to avoid the places prior to the onset of the headache.
Hypertension Headaches. This headache occurs in the morning and decreases gradually towards the end of the day. Such headache is caused due to the rise of your blood pressure, which can be remedied by making sure that you’re taking your hypertension medications on a regular basis.
Exertion Headaches. Did you experience headaches after a strenuous exercise routine, spending hours in the gym weight lifting or running fast in the field? It’s called exertion headache and usually last for a few minutes to couple of hours. It is closely associated with cluster headaches, migraines, and cardiovascular diseases. Aspirin or other similar medicines are prescribed and surgery for advanced cases. Either way, make sure you get plenty of rest and perform only light exercise routines.
Migraine with Aura. It’s a one-sided pain accompanied by symptoms such as numbness of the feet, arms, etc. It usually dwindles in an hour but severe pain follows. This type of headache is linked to smoking, changing weather conditions and hunger. Your doctor will usually put you on nonsteroidal drugs.
Migraine without Aura. This headache is the exact replica of the above but the symptoms now include vomiting, sensitivity to light and nausea.
So, I hope that you can now properly identify the type, causes and cures for your headaches everyday. What causes headaches and knowing what type of headache you are having is very important. This isn’t the final list because there are still other types of headaches that aren’t mentioned here. Headaches should not be taken lightly or should not be ignored, it may be the symptom of something serious manifesting in your body. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor right away.

The title of this article is quite amusing. It’s true, we should not ignore our headaches because it might be a sign of something serious. If you keep on popping pills to relieve the pain in your head, you won’t be able to cure the real cause of it. It’s okay if it’s just a migraine but is it’s already cancer, pray not it will not happen to you.
I have been suffering from headaches for a couple of years, have seen a few doctors, but so far to no avail. My headache is like a ‘hangover’ everyday (I don’t drink every day!). I am 46, and had the test to determine if I am going through the menopause, however, this was negative. I am so tired all the time and have this constant ‘thick’ head. It is mostly not a painful headache, rather a constant dullness. I wonder if anyone has any insight?
My headaches disappeared when I tried to wear glasses. I was getting old and many people say I’m so lucky that my vision is still 20/20. But all of sudden these headaches started; I tried everything until one day I tried wearing the glasses of my brother and my headache was almost instantly healed.
I wasted no time and went out immediately to get my own set of eye glasses. Hope this experience will help someone out there.
Hello, I’ve been suffering from real bad headaches! Its been going on for 11 days! I can’t take it no more. I’ve been having blury vision, mood swings, stomach ache, constepaded, dr.’s sayed its just stress, but I don’t think soo. Please what should I do?.?? Help!!
Hi Liz / If it all started just recently, you might be allergic to something or something new has been introduced to your environment the reason for your headaches. Migraines usually happen when these circumstances happen.
So the best thing for you to do is to recall what happened before or maybe something that was introduced to your diet. Discovering the real causes may be cumbersome but the effort is really worth it.
Hello I’m just wondering if I should see a doctor. I’ve been having reoccurring headaches since I was diagnosed with a molar pregnancy 2 years ago. They are always at the back of my head, they start in the afternoon and there is no way to get rid of them without going to sleep. I have also had benign humors removed in the past. Opinions greatly appreciated.
Hi Chantel, Yes, I recommend visiting your doctor and do the correct scans and tests. Hope this helps.
Thanks for this. I’m only 15 and I’ve been getting headaches every day from the moment I wake up until I fall asleep. My head is basically throbbing for the whole day. Lately it’s been getting a lot worse but fortunately my doctor has referred me to get a CAT scan (which I’m getting on my birthday, conveniently)
Even after reading this I have no idea what is going on with my head. I had a sleep study in April this year (which diagnosed me with Narcolepsy and Hypersomnia) so I don’t have any abnormal behaviour which may relate to my headaches. And I don’t really stress.
Hmm, hope all goes well for me. Thank you again.
Have you had a Cat Scan of your head? How about visited a dentist lately.
Maybe you have something called pseudotumor cerebri. My daughter had it. It\’s a fake brain tumor. She got better after 5 spinal taps, to reduce the spinal fluid pressure, as hers was too high. No problems since. Good luck.
i dont know if anyone can help but i suffer with head aches numbness everywhere blurred vision pulpertations moodswings and various other symptoms but no one can help or tell me what is wrong
any advice helpful
I have been having the same symtoms! My dr. Say’s its only stress. But I don’t think its only stress… =(
Interesting article, I read the book you recommended but honestly it was focused on migraine headaches.
In my understanding, migraine is just a type of headache? Am I right?
There are different of headaches, sometimes it becomes confusing about headaches and migraine. But the book said, migraine indeed is just a type of headaches.
Interesting article, I was just wondering what is the difference between a headache and a migraine? Really appreciate if you could explain it clearly. Thanks.
@Mar – Good question, I’ll do my best to write a post about it.
I am fortunate because I don’t suffer from headaches. Although I do get them whenever I don’t sleep well enough or when I have a hangover. In my opinion, taking pain killers are not bad especially if you are using those pills made especially for headaches.
What if I have a migraine and the cause of it is cold air. Every company in this civilized world is air conditioned, so how in the hell could I prevent my migraines if I go to work in a cold place? I believe that science is doing its best to manufacture pills for migraines with the least negative side-effects.
Well just sharing my opinion.
Interesting article, I’ve been suffering from frequent headaches lately since we moved to a new house. I noticed that the construction site behind us is giving away so much dust which I believe have caused the pain in my head. But after closing all the windows at the back minimizing the dust coming in, it helped indeed minimizing my headaches and hopefully it will disappear once the constructions are done.
